Here is a video from LEAVA recorded at their recent Firewheel appearance.
LEAVA: ‘Crutch’ @ Firewheel – 11.29.2014
Stage and stage lights are up. A local artist is painting a scene of the universe on the stage and the lights are up and running. It is still a little rough but will be finished soon. See our entertainment page for upcoming musical events.
B&W copier and wireless printing Services . Many study groups have meetings in The Firewheel. They love the atmosphere and the books & coffee but many times need to print hard copies or files off their computers. That will no longer be a problem as we offer B&W copies and wireless printing from customer devices at more than reasonable price per sheet on the Canon 2830 (pictured here) and our HP Laser-jet wireless connected printer.
Our community appeal to grow the Firewheel.
These efforts to make The Firewheel the community center we all want it to be does not come without a price. We have operated on a shoestring since day one and despite the praise we receive from the community, we are only now beginning to do more than just pay the bills each month. Your support is needed to keep the Firewheel open. Please continue to support the Firewheel with your patronage and spread the word about this great asset to our community.
We want to set the trend for the type of community we want to life in. Just recently we were finally able to pay for recycling pickup. Now we are looking to find ways to make our customers needs available locally. Lets breath life back into the downtown area without the corporate logo stamped on every storefront. Lets work together to make anything we need available within walking distance from our homes or workplace. Lets all make Everett a sustainable community looking towards the future.
“Help The Firewheel” Donations
Just make donations at the cash register saying this is to “Help the Firewheel”. We really can use folding chairs also, for our large meetings. If you are dropping off folding chairs just bring them in the store or ask for our help to carry them in.
Thank You for all your help in making our venture one to be proud of.
THEROS Magic Cards have arrived at the Firewheel. We have The Starter Packs and Booster Packs. And to celebrate we will be having a Casual Play Night At The Firewheel this Friday November 8th @ 7 PM. Come to play and bring your DCI membership card or fill out a membership form and choose from a free “2013 Core Set” or “Gatecrash” Booster Pack. The Firewheel is a perfect spot for casual, tournament, and League play. But we need someone knowledgeable to take the helm. If you are that person or know of someone willing to volunteer for this task please let us know. The Firewheel is the number one Gathering Spot in downtown Everett. Now all we need is “The Magic”. So help by speading the word and stop by for some play time, coffee, food and friendship.
Paul Roberts performed songs from his next CD, due out at the end of the year, @ The Firewheel last night. This song “Souvenir” was especially moving. Guarenteed to stir memories from the past. Paul will likely be at the “Songwriters in Seattle” event at The Firewheel this Saturday. So for those of you unable to attend last night, this is another opportunity to hear some wonderful songs from Paul.
Xanadu is coming to the Village Theatre @ The Performing Arts Center, and what better place to meet up with your friends and family than the Firewheel Community Coffeehouse. A spirited tongue-in-cheek comedy based on the movie starring Olivia Newton John and Gene Kelly, this musical-on-wheels is a joyful celebration of the totally awesome power of love…and leg warmers. Ancient mythology collides with the world of disco as a Greek muse descends from Mt. Olympus to inspire the creation of the world’s first roller disco. A surprise hit on Broadway, Xanadu boasts the movie’s chart-topping songs like “I’m Alive,” “Suddenly,” and “Magic,” and was called “simultaneously indefensible and irresistible” by the New York Times.

Tonight Everett citizens, on less than one days notice, answered the nationwide call to protest the governments plan to bomb Syria. These people got together to let our politicians know that the answer to war is not more war! The calls to elected officials are running about 100 to 1 clearly in opposition to bombing Syria. Now we will see who the politicians represent by the action they will take. Will they side with the 100 or the 1?
